Cairo ICT 2012 Opens its doors

Minsiters of CIT attends the opening ceremony of the sixteenth round of the exhibition

H. E. Dr. Mohamed Salem, Minister of CIT, accompanied by four African CIT ministers, inaugurate Cairo ICT 2012 in its sixteenth round under the slogan “Spring of Technologies”.

Among activities scheduled to take place during Cairo ICT is the signing of a cooperation agreement between the ministries of CIT and Higher Education to officially announce the distribution of 10 thousand tablet computers to Egyptian university students. Another agreement is expected to be signed between the ministries of CIT and Environment.

With the participation of around 300 Egyptian and multinational companies in the expo, Cairo ICT is considered the biggest event of the ICT sector awaited for by companies every year. The expo tackles several issues, most prominent among which is the World Summit Award, hosted by Egypt for the first time, and organized by ITIDA in cooperation with Trade Fairs International, the organizer of the exhibition, In addition to holding the Telecom Summit which discusses security issues in Egypt and the region. Cairo ICT encompasses also the Cairo ICT Forum, as well as the shopping area for direct sales, namely the Consumer Electronics.
